L9: G Computation
Content for the week of Tuesday, April 6, 2021–Thursday, April 8, 2021
Readings
- Ahern J, Hubbard A, Galea S. Estimating the effects of potential public health interventions on population disease burden: a step-by-step illustration of causal inference methods. American journal of epidemiology. 2009;169(9):1140–1147.
Notes
Lots of new material this week, and a new way of thinking about regression models. This week, we use regression models to estimate predicted probabilities, and then use the predicted probabilities to generate contrasts of interest. For those interested in R code to follow along with the example presented in this week’s lecture, you may find it here.
Videos
Recordings of lectures are available on the EPID 722 Sakai site.
Exercise
Exercise 9 may be found on the course Teams site.
Optional readings
Lin DY. On the Breslow estimator. Lifetime data analysis. 2007 Dec 1;13(4):471-80.
